The Albanian Minister of Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj, met with the Interior Ministers of Western Balkan at the European Commission.
Xhafaj said that the countries of the region should give a unanimous response to the border management.
“Each country must hold his own responsibilities to face joint challenges. Every negligence of one country could turn into a burden on others. We know our responsibilities and we have committed to big challenges, from asylum seeking to fight against organized crime and a series of other areas of joint interest for the EU member countries”, Xhafaj said.
The countries of the region committed to continuing their joint efforts in the fight against organized crime and foreign fighters, preventing extremism and violent radicalization.
The meeting showed once again the readiness of Western Balkan countries to cooperate with the EU for joint challenges.
