Albania supports the integration of Macedonia, which goes through the
Ohrid Agreement, declared the Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati.
He was part ofj a meeting with counterparts of the Initiative for
Central Europe in Ohrid.
“The Initiative of Central Europe will remain an efficient instrument which aim to consolidate peace and security in the region”, Minister Bushati declared. He added that the European Integration of the non-member countries of the initiative should remain a priority of this initiative.
“The security of each country depends on the collective security of the region. It serves to our collective interest for Macedonia to address the current political crisis properly. Albania remains determined to support the Euro-Atlantic integration of Macedonia, which goes through the full implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, and the respecting of the rights of the Albanian people, as a state-forming factor in Macedonia. The Ohrid agreement cannot be seen as a simple format. It is a long-term vision based in an authentic history of peaceful co-existence”, the Albanian Foreign Minister declared.
Bushati also met with Ali Ahmeti, the leader of the BDI, with whom he discussed about the latest political developments in Macedonia.
