2012 is seen as a difficult year with increased criminality. General
Prosecutor Adrian Llalla declared that murder rates have increased, and
for this reason all law enforcing institutions should cooperate more to
get to the authors.

The report says that the judicial system needs harsher penalizations for criminal offenders. Robberies and threats have increased with 63%, compared to 2011.

Another concerning figure is the 44% increased number of abandoned children. Domestic violence has also increased, with 255 people throughout the country that are being prosecute on these charges.

The report says that harsher measures are needed for domestic crime, and that social and economic factors also affect the figures. There are also more minors who get involved in crimes.

The Prosecution says that the lack of an efficient punishment system affects the increased number of thefts.

The Prosecution also says that besides fight against corruption and organized crime, the improvement of the law enforcing agencies is another priority of the Prosecution.
