Nine wholesale companies that import or produce and vegetable oil in Albania are being investigated by the Competition Authority.
During the monitoring in the wholesale market of vegetable oil at Agro Blend LLC and Ferra & Co LLC, it was ascertained that the prices for the vegetable oil product have increased during 2022.
Specifically, Gold oil is sold for 329 ALL with VAT, Diamond with 335 ALL with VAT, King with 315 ALL with VAT and Floriol with 319 ALL with VAT.
From the information administered the authorities gathered that for the period 1 January 2022 – 11 March 2022, the average monthly import price in January 2022 was in the amount of 199.23 ALL / liter and in March 2022 is increased to 208.54 ALL / liter.
There is an increase of 7.5% from February 2022.
The companies under investigation have increased the price of vegetable oil at the same time, during January and February of this year, which is in contradiction with the law “On protection of competition”, which prohibits the agreements or coordinated conduct between these enterprises.
