“I will replace SMI Ministers”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, held a meeting to make public
the Democratic Party program for agriculture and rural development in
the next four years. Berisha reinforced his declaration posted on
Facebook, saying that every political party is free and independent to
decide for its interest and its future.

“I cannot avoid fulfilling your desire and talk about the recent news, about the decision of the Socialist Movement for Integration. My comment is that every political party is free and independent to decide whatever is best for them. For me, as a Prime Minister, this is the time when the government’s responsibility is bigger and I will do everything possible for my government to guarantee elections of the best standards. The problems that might be created can be resolved through the Constitution, which belongs to the most advanced standards. The time when the Constitution used to leave to ministers in this country is over. I guarantee that the Constitution will be respected. I am more motivated than ever to lead the Democratic Party to the victory of these elections, which are more than deserved”, the PM declared.

“Thinking that a political can be in the government and the opposition too, is just imagination. After the last local elections the Albanians had the Mayor of Tirana in opposition and in the Municipality too, but the citizens removed him with their votes”, Berisha declared.

For Berisha, early elections cannot happen now that the SMI will abandon the government, and that the cabinet will keep working normally, since they have the necessary numbers in Parliament.

“Rama was bragging that he finally won and that he would enter the elections with a technical government, but he lost again. This is where he is good at. The government must be complete and active in this time to answer the key requests of the democracy, which are the elections. Certainly that we have a majority in Parliament”, Berisha declared.

The Prime Minister added that the SMI decision was harmless for the government in this period of time.

“This action is a consequence. The government will change with a clear majority in Parliament and will continue its obligations. There will be no consequences”, Berisha declared.
