After seven days of protests, the Turkish company “Limak Age”, which is
building the Banja Hydropower Plant, has signed an agreement with the
Unions by accepting their conditions.

The Turkish company will now have to respect the workers’ rights according to the Albanian laws. Limak Age accepted to sign the collective agreement, one of the conditions set by the protesters, implementing the official working hours and paying bonus hours during holidays.

The company will review the payment plan for its workers. The workers protested for one week by boycotting work in all sites.

The company “Devoll Hydropower” had reacted through a press release, asking an understanding between the parties for a mutual benefit.

Devoll Hydropower underlined that all parties included in the project are obliged to respect the Albanian law.
