At least 85.000 Albanians have left the country in the last week, and 128.000 others have returned.
Official statistics show that the border capacities have increased their capacity from three to five times. In 2010, there were more Albanians traveling abroad than those who were coming for the holidays.
While incomers were fewer last year, in 2011 there are 1.5 times more, regardless the free visa movement.
The Kapshtica and Kakavija border checkpoints are still the epicenter of the emigrant flux, followed by the ports of Durres and Vlore.
The biggest flux for the entire year was one day before Christmas, when 26.733 Albanians entered in their country, and 13.109 traveled abroad, mostly to Greece and other EU countries.
