Historians against Kosovo-Montenegro border changes

Marking of the borderline between Kosovo and Montenegro will not be
ratified in Parliament. This demarcation line will be still opposed by
experts, because there are 8000 hectares in Kosovo’s disfavor,
specifically in Peja, Rugova and Podguri.

On the 138th anniversary of the Prizren League, professors from Albania and Kosovo held a scientific meeting with the purpose to urge preservation of the Albanian lands.

Some opposition parties in Montenegro have even claimed to use the same borderline as during the Balkan wars, and Albanian experts ask politicians to implement their constitutional duty and not damage Albanian borders.

“Demarkation is marking of borders, not changing them. The current proposition moves borders for several kilometers”, says prof.Zejnullah Gruda.

“This puts Albanains under a bad light, in proportion with the creators of the Albanian state”, says historian Pellumb Xhufi.

“Today’s politicians have a constitutional duty to not allow a single centimeter of land to the neighboring countries”, said prof.Ksenofon Krisafi.

The Prizren League was the beginning of concrete efforts of Albanians for the establishing the modern state.
