The thermometer plunged under zero, resulting with snowfalls in several areas of the country.
Cold currents of air have cooled the temperatures by 4 to 7 degrees Celsius, forcing many people to take the heavy coats from the bottom of the wardrobe.
According to the military forecast, Friday is expected to remain on the same conditions.
“We have had low temperatures and heavy snowfalls. The temperature couldn’t surpass 17°C in Durrës at noon, and dark clouds are expected to come this Friday, bringing isolated rainfalls in the southeast”, said meteorologist Genta Stafa.
The temperatures are expected to rise by three degrees during the weekend, but still accompanied with rainfalls.
“This weekend is expected to have unstable currents of air that will result with rainfalls”, Stafa specified. The temperatures are expected to stabilize only in the first days of the week to come.
