The Albanian Foreign Minister, Edmond Haxhinasto, visited the
Ministerial gathering of the NATO member states, where he gave the first
official declaration about the return of the Korce Judges of Appeal at
the Greek border.

In this two-day NATO Ministerial gathering, the Foreign Minister met with homologues of the member countries.

“In all these meetings we have spoken about Albania’s challenges in fulfilling its obligations for progressing with the EU integration process. A special and long discussion was held with the Dutch homologue. We treated the problematic of the entire process and I see realism in Netherland’s point of view for the Albanian developments”, Haxhinasto declared.

The Albanian Foreign Minister also spoke about Albania’s stance regarding Northern Kosovo.

“We noted how important is the stabilization of the situation in Northern Kosovo, and also the agreements reached in the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and the implementation of these agreements. We also reiterated our stance, that it is very important to dismantle the Serbian parallel structures in Kosovo, in order to stabilize the situation”, Haxhinasto added.

As regards the situation in Macedonia, where five young Slavic Macedonians were found dead and some media blamed the Albanians, the head of the Albanian diplomacy declared that everyone should wait for the investigation to finish.

“Whatever nationality the authors of this crime might have, this is a very ugly action that should never happen, because it doesn’t serve to the Macedonian society, to the integration of the communities that live there, and even to the integration processes of the country”, Haxhinasto declared.

In the last Ministerial gathering of NATO, before the Chicago Summit, Albania supported all strategic documents that are expected to be approved in May’s summit.
