The Greek government reacted after the Albanian government started demolishing buildings in Himara, to make way for an urban requalification of the area where many members of the Greek minority live.
“We are watching the occurrences very closely. The Greek government is working to defend minorities and their property rights. The initiatives of the Greek Foreign Ministry to protect these properties are constant and stable”, the Spokesperson of the Greek government said.
While the Greek Ministry is expected to come up with a reaction, Greek media have commented on today’s operation.
Proto Thema says that “Rama’s regime” has been “targeting and destroying homes of homogenous residents, with the purpose to interrupt their financial sources and make them leave Himara”.
