Visiting Washington DC, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias talked to his American counterpart Rex Tillerson about Greece’s role in the stability and security of geostrategical moves happening in the region.
Political analysits from Shkupi said previously Kotzias was heading to DC in order to express Greece’s constant position of blocking NATO membership process for Macedonia and also to refute the Albanian platform and promote a Greek one to solve the political issues in the neighbouring country.
Asked about the the assumptions Kotzias said the Macedonian topic was not discussed in particular, but he did admit he reported to the Secretary of State about the situation there and Greece’s efforts to stabilize the situation. He also said Mr. Tillerson listened carefully to his analysis about the region and different forces operating there, but when asked he did not give specific names, telling it would be clear after considerable analyises.
Greek Foreign Ministry also said Kotzias reported in Washington about tensions in Ankara and how Turkish authorities are trying to export them in third party countries.
