The Kosovo Police arrested today the Chief of the so-called “Office for Kosovo” at the Serbian government, Marko Gjuric.
As confirmed by the Chief of Police for Northern Mitrovica, Besim Hoti, the intervention of the special forces took place when Gjuric and other Serbian officials, who had entered Kosovo illegally, were holding a meeting in which they were discussing Kosovo and the creation of the Serbian Commune Association.
At this moment, police entered the building and even had to use tear gas. After being detained at the Central Police Precinct in Prishtina, Gjuric was taken to the Merdara border checkpoints, where he was handed over to Serbian authorities.
Gjuric’s arrest has alarmed Serbian authorities, with President Alexander Vucic summoning an urgent meeting of the National Council for Security.
