Germany will open market for Balkan workers

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare in
Germany, Anette Kramme, said on Deutsche Welle what German officials
have frequently made clear: Albanians have zero chances for political
asylum.

But starting from the next year, Germany will make it possible for Balkan workers to move legally at a rate of 20.000 workers a year. The law will be valid until 2020.

When asked what will change concretely with the new law, Kramme said that immigrants will be able to go to Germany if they have any special qualification or if they are categorized as academics, through the Blue Card.

The second option, according to Kramme, will be through special categories that are short of professionals.

Another condition is that the German Federal Agency of Labor should give its consent and guarantee that no German or other EU candidate is available for that job, while the work conditions should be equal.

As for the problem of the Kosovo citizens, the only country in Western Balkan that doesn’t enjoy the visa-free movement, Kramme says the German authorities will make it easier for issuing work visas.
