The investigations for the Bank of Albania vault theft scandal continued
this Wednesday with the interrogation of the former governor, now
arrested over power abuse at prison 302. He has challenged the
imprisonment verdict at the Court of Appeal and is currently waiting in
his prison cell.
Fullani was interviewed by the Prosecutor of this case, Ramadan Troci, in presence of his defending lawyer, Maks Haxhia. This is the first time that the former governor is being interrogated after the arrest. This development comes one day after the interrogation of all other Supervisory Ciouncil members.
The US Ambassador, who is attending a visit in Pustec, Korce, together with the President, the Minister of Justice and the President f the Supreme Court, held a speech in which he also spoke about the Bank of Albania situation.
The Ambassador declared that the Bank of Albania reform should not be politicized, and confirmed that the administration of this institution had flaws. As for the new Bank of Albania leader, he declared that there are plenty of qualified persons in Albania.
