November 11th was commemorated in Korce, the day of the ceasefire of
1918, when the war between Balkan countries and Europe came to an end.
640 French soldiers are commemorated in this ceremony, whose military is in Korce, in presence of the French Ambassador, Bernard Fitoussi, Prefect Ardit Konomi, Mayor Sotiraq Filo and military affiliates from other countries.
The officials placed wreaths and paid homage to the cemeteries of those who fell on behalf of freedom. They stayed a few minutes in silence while the musical band performed the national anthem.
Ambassador Fitoussi walked through the graves to honor and respect the fallen soldiers. One day ago he had attended a courtesy meeting with the Korce Mayor.
