Today was the third day of the unprecedented hearing in the London court of former Albanian democratic prime minister Sali Berisha against the English government, where his repesentatives brought opposing arguments for declaring him a ‘person non grata’ in Great Britain.

Top Channels Muhamed Veliu learns that Fergus Randolph KC, Mr. Berisha’s legal representative, told SIAC, the Special Immigration Appeals Commission, that with her decision former Secretary of State Priti Patel violated the law as the charges that led to the declaration are serious and clearly untrue.

Randolph further said that the secretary of state failed to consider the fact that Mr. Berisha has not been in power for 10 years and has no way of being inclined to strengthen or have ties to organized crime.

Another argument presented by the defense, is the fact that the Socialist Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, had warned in parliament that his democratic rival would be made ‘non-grata’ by Britain, before Patel announced the decision.

But is Mr. Berisha or someone else paying the extravagant costs of this court battle in London?

Top Channel asked the law firm Zaiwalla & Co and is awaiting an answer, wowever lawyers in London whom Top Channel consulted claim that lawyers of the caliber of Fergus Randolph KC are paid over 950 pounds plus VAT for an hour of work, that is, about over 100 000 ALL per hour of work.
