Former KLA soldier found guilty

Sali Rexhepi was found guilty and was sentenced to five years in prison
by a judge panel made of one Kosovo judge and two EULEX ones.

Rexhepi was sentenced on 13 October, after he was found guilty for torturing a Kosovo Albanian civilian who was held in the KLA headquarter in Cahan, Albania, around May 3rd 1999.

Sali Rexhepi was sentenced only for this charge and was found innocent for the others, regarding crimes against civilian population.

EULEX says that the Prosecution is represented by a prosecutor of the EU mission, while the Prosecutor and defending lawyer announced that they will appeal the verdict.
