The former Democratic Party MP, Ervin Salianji, was taken as defendant by the Tirana Prosecution for the “Xhafaj-Babale” case. He is accused of false testimony.
The Democratic Party say they are not surprised with this decision of the Prosecution, which, they claim, is controlled by the Albanian government.
For the DP, the decision was known from the first reaction that Edi Rama gave after the DP published the accusations.
“The Democratic Party proved the involvement of the Interior Minister’s brother in drug traffic, and that he was receiving political support”, the DP declaration says.
