Fatmir Limaj, former commander of the Kosovo Liberation Army, was
brought to the Gjakova Court of First Instance for war crimes. He is
accused of not preventing and of not being engaged to bring justice for
the murder of two civilians on October 2nd, 1998, near the Malisheva
commune.
The charges were filed last October by the Special Prosecution in Kosovo, which was represented by Prosecutor Drita Hajdari.
Fatmir Limaj, leader of the “Nisma” political movement, stated that he doesn’t feel guilty for the accusations. He called the charges against him a “masquerade”, which he hoped would end soon.
Limaj’s lawyer declared that his client had no commanding responsibility in the time when the crimes have occurred. The Court of First Instance in Gjakova found Limaj not guilty.
