The Zeqiri family from the Rashidan neighborhood in Skopje, Macedonia,
asked the Albanian Prime Minister to help them move to Albania. Faik
Zeqiri is looking for a calmer place to live with his family, since his
house has been attacked several times from Macedoniain hooligans.
Convinced that Albanian politicians in Skopje cannot guarantee his safety, he has decided to leave Macedonia.
“I appeal Edi Rama to help us with finding shelter, because there’s nowhere else I can make this appeal. I and my brothers have decided to move from here, to leave our houses, because we cannot continue living like this. Our children cannot go to the store, because they are traumatized. If the Albanian Prime Minister helps us with a shelter in Albania, we could finally live at peace”, declared Faik Zeqiri.
They have filmed their last attack through private cameras placed in the house of the Zeqiri family. Members of this family say that this Sunday, after the ballots were closed, their house was attacked by a group of hooligans. Two of their sons were injured during the attack and their 80-year-old mother was intentionally hit by a car.
“They took the courage to enter our house. We heard someone tell us to move from here or they would burn our house. We don’t feel safe. Every night, one of our brothers stays awake to guard the house until morning”, Faik says.
The police has confirmed the case and has filed five reports and one criminal prosecution report for the driver who attacked the crowd with his car.
“This is a closed case for us. We have filed six reports, one of which is a criminal report. The competent institution is the Prosecution and they can verify the other motives”, declared the Interior Minister of Macedonia, Gordana Jankullovska.
The Zeqiri family has been attacked by hooligans even before. They have been threatened with their lives if they do not leave the Radishan neighborhood in Skopje, of Macedonian majority.
