Extended Covid-19 curfew; Albania closes from 20: 00-06: 00, gymnasiums in 7 municipalities to teach online

The Technical Committee of Experts has decided today that the daily traffic ban for citizens be extended from 20:00 in the evening – 6:00 in the morning, except for health emergencies and those for work reasons (in this case it is necessary the permission through application e-Albania) for a period of 14 days, starting from Thursday, February 11 – February 25.

Also, the Technical Committee of Experts has decided to ban the activities of bars, restaurants, clubs, from 20:00 in the evening – 06:00 in the morning (except for the restaurants delivery service), starting from Thursday, February 11 – February 25.

Given the increase in cases of new infections in the age group 15-24 years, high schools will apply the third scenario, operating online in high risk areas, which include the municipalities: Tirana, Fier, Vlora, Berat, Durres, Gjirokastra, Lezha, Lushnje, Pogradec and Kamza, for the period February 11 – February 26.

The university exams season will be extended to ensure a combination of online and in-class exams for courses requiring attendance, as assessed by MASR, by strictly enforcing AntiCovid protocols. The day before, 1239 infected people were confirmed throughout our country, a record since the beginning of the pandemic, as well as 16 loss of life.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu has expressed that there are strong doubts that new variants of the coronavirus have entered our country, which explains, according to her, the increase in infections.
