A powerful storm has created serious problems in Vlore, where the Vjosa
river might cause floods, especially at the Mifoli Bridge, where four
houses are at risk.
The Emergency Headquarters had an urgent meeting for avoiding any possible tragedy. The electric network has also been damaged, leaving several areas without electricity for several hours.
The energy situation is difficult even in Lushnje, where the storm damaged 28 power supply stations. The teams of the Energy Distribution have repaired 25 of them, and now are working with three others.
The Minister of Agriculture, Edmond Panariti, traveled to Fier to see the situation of the pumps that have been stuck for two days, due to the lack of energy. He appealed the authorities to return the energy in Fier, since the situation is very concerning.
“We need energy supply during rains more than with dry weather. We risk a flood here”, Panariti declared.
The Fier residents who live near the Gjanica River were warned to be careful.
