Electoral reform; President Meta calls on opposition: Be clear about the consensus

“I had an official phone call with Lulzim Basha this morning requested by him, I can’t say anything else. This was official, my message is give the Albanians the right they deserve, so that they have faith in elections, in democracy, do not intimidate them anymore, neither with arrogance nor with hesitation, put all trust in democracy which begins with free voting and elections.

“I told them to do everything for the consensus. Don’t fall prey to the next provocation and leave the table, don’t present a wish list, stay with the basics and you will have the support of the internationals representatives”, were Meta’s messages for the opposition.

He added: “June 8th is an important date, I hope we have an agreement. To my knowledge, the opposition has not set as a condition the transitional government, and this makes consensus possible “.
