The Elections Complaints and Sanctions Commission has decided today to reject by a majority of votes the request of the opposition parties SMI and DP for the rerun of the elections in the district of Berat.
Thursday is expected the decision for the recount of votes for this district, another request of the SMI.
For the district of Berat, 57 suspicious cases were identified, of which the Complaints Commission at the CEC accepted only 1 of the 2 complaints of the SMI, and rejected that of the DP for the result in the April 25 elections in Berat.
In the conditions when it lost the mandate for only 77 votes, the SMI asked the commission for the invalidity of the elections in 24 polling stations in the district of Berat, and as a consequence the repetition of the elections there.
