The Albanian Historian from Skopje, Skender Hasani, has found a document
that he claims to be a microfilm of the original act of independence in
Elbasan, on November 1912.
The document is missing in our state’s archive, but Hasani found it in the Skopje Institute of National History.
Skender Hasani, leader of the Albanian Historians Association in Macedonia, says that this document was brought from Belgrade. The Serbians took it after occupying the Middle Albania, and then sent it to Skopje.
The historian says that he came into this document by chance, while making his scientific studies. He says that these images have a great historical significance for the Albanian people.
“These are very important documents. The Albanian institutions have always declared that the original documents of this period have been lost. We are trying to find them”, Hasani declared.
The historian said that he will send this and other important documents to the Albanian State Archive, for the 100th anniversary of independence.
