The Court of Appeals for Serious Crimes left in prison until trial the
three suspects arrested after an armored Audi hit the vehicle of the
police vice chief, Gjergji Oshafi.
Ledio Zabeli, the driver of a seized “Range Rover”, and Valmir Dedja, the guard of the fruit market who didn’t open the gate on police orders, will be kept in prison while they are investigated.
The third person, Kelmend Xhaferri, who was a passenger of the Range Rover, was left in house arrest.
As for last night, the Elbasan Police, in cooperation with the Special Forces, arrested 31-year-old Enea Bekteshi in Cerrik, who is allegedly the person driving the armored Audi that hit the police vehicle.
The 31-year-old is suspected also for other unresolved crimes in Elbasan. Together with Bekteshi, police arrested Aleks Pupuleku, his brother-in-law, who was hiding him at his home.
The Prosecution of Serious Crimes is expected to decide today for Bekteshi, who is accused of attempted murder, destruction of property and possession of narcotics.
