Earthquake uninhabitable buildings; Families in Laç live in fear of collapse

In the 2nd district of the northern city of Laç, most of the buildings have been declared uninhabitable by the authorities but they are still inhabited by residents.

Frrok Deda along with other members of his family live in a building that has been declared habitable by experts.

He tells that every day faces fears of what might happen. Many residents in this neighborhood live in such buildings and say that are waiting for an answer from the municipality of Kurbin. Nevertheless a year after the 26-th november earthquake, the city of Laç continues to look like a ruin.

Some buildings have been demolished and the building waste have been in place for months. Other buildings are reportedly about to be demolished, but without yet having a clear date when it could happen.
