Driver of casino where the 22-year-old African woman who was beaten to death in Tirana worked is arrested

The authorities said today that Rodi Barci, who was a driver in the casino where the 22-year-old Kenyan woman who was brutally beaten in Tirana last year and died at the beginning of the month as a result of her injuries, has been arrested.

Journalist Dorjana Bezat learns that Barçi was accompanied 5 days ago to be interrogated, as he was among the last people to meet the 22-year-old Kenyan who died of the violence in unclear circumstances.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Tirana declares that it has not yet issued a detention order for persons suspected of the death of the 22-year-old Kenyan woman.

The 22-year-old had come to Albania to work in a casino, but she was found brutally beaten near her apartment, and after several weeks of care, lost her life.

Police officers have re-interrogated several people to clarify ambiguities or inconsistencies between their statements and the footage of security cameras in the area. Investigations continue.
