Through a Facebook status, former PD MP Oerd Bylykbashi says that since the day of Eid al-Fitr, “the state of natural disaster” and the extraordinary measures Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama are anti-constitutional.

While quoting articles of the constitution, Bylykbashi stated among other things, that the government should have requested a new 30-day extension on May 23rd, and report to the Parliament the measures taken from April 24 to May 23, proving how effective they were and why the state of natural disaster and restriction of freedoms had to be extended for another 30 days.

Among other things Bylykbashi in his post stated:

“As of this Sunday’s Eid al-Fitr, ‘the state of natural disaster’ and the extraordinary measures of Prime Minister Edi Rama are ANTI-CONSTITUTIONAL. Holding these measures beyond May 23rd has no constitutional value because the Parliament could not extend the state of natural disaster for more than a month, without a new decree.

“The restriction of the movement of Albanians and all other freedoms by Prime Minister Rama, from today May 24 onwards, are unconstitutional.
“The Parliament has an obligation to protect your rights from the government, but forget that this Parliament will protect you, as it is house rag in the hands of Edi Rama. Covid 19 statistics do not justify the kidnapping and violation of your rights by Edi Rama. Citizens, refuse the ‘social distancing’ of the Prime Minister’s neurons that violate YOUR FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT! Restore your rights and freedoms!”
