Today on December 8, the Day of Democracy in Albania, chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, considered it a day to apologize for that part of the responsibility that enabled the “current regime” to return Albania in many aspects to the dimension of suffering of 31 years ago.

“I apologize today as chairman of the Democratic Party on behalf of the Albanian Democrats for all our responsibilities, our mistakes, which have enabled this regime to return Albania in many aspects, in the dimension of suffering where it was 31 years ago,” he said referring to the communist era of dictator Enver Hoxha.

In his speech, DP leader Basha said it took the United States to side with the Democratic Party to defeat communism.

“I want to tell you that in your formation, young men and women of the Democratic Party and young men and women of Albania, even you who are not members of the Democratic Party, but who have risen in revolts and protests, there is definitely courage of the protesters in December 1990 “, said Basha.

Among other things he added that the Student Movement of 1990 managed to overthrow communism, but not to overthrow the communist mentality in Albania.
