A few hours after Bamir Topi decreed the former Democratic Party member
as the new head of the HIDAA, the majority has strongly opposed it.

The Democratic Party MP, Enkelejd Alibeaj, invited at Top Channel’s program “Top Story”, presented the stance of the majority for this candidacy and released serious accusations against the President, especially for the new candidacy of HIDAA.

“When I was Minister of Justice, I was focused on the judicial system and the judge promotions. The darkest part that the justice system has known during the presidency of Bamir Topi has been the promotions of judges, based only on money and corruption. One of these people is the new candidate that the President decreed for HIDAA”, Alibeaj declared.

Alibeaj’s declaration was also the official stance of the majority, and this was reflected with the first page of the Democratic Party newspaper, which released strong accusations for the head of the Albanian state.

The Socialist MP, Fatmir Toci, held a more reserved stance, saying that the President’s proposition will pass under Parliamentary control, for deciding if it is the right candidacy or not. Toci underlined that Sali Shehu is a right winged candidacy.

Lutfi Dervishi, the analyst invited in studio, declared that the Presidential proposition is a test for the situation in the country, and underlined that the majority might reject the candidacy.

The leader of the Social Democracy Party, Paskal Milo, declared that this position needs a consensual candidacy. He underlined that if the Parliament voting would be made through secret votes, Shehu would receive the necessary votes. But Milo says that his candidacy will be rejected, due to the political stance.

Mr. Shehu will need 71 votes to be confirmed. He used to be a Democratic Party MP in the last legislature, and his voting is expected with interest.
