DP, Olli: “Tirana City Budget goes to Edi Rama’s clients”

The Democratic Party denounced the draft budget of the Tirana
Municipality, saying it damages the citizens by raising taxes and
reducing investments in services, and doesn’t take in consideration
infrastructure development for a bigger Tirana, after the newer
territorial division.

“Now it is clear why Erion Veliaj is trying to pass the budget in a rush, without transparency. This doesn’t offer anything, besides raising taxes, and it directs the entire budget in the hands of the clients of Edi Rama”, said the head of the Democratic Party councillors of the Tirana Municipality, Leonard Olli.

Olli published a list showing the raised taxes and fees, with the hotel taxes increased with 200%, parking fees with 1000%, operations in public spaces fees with 700%, veterinary fees with 140%, 1/5th of the budget used only for salaries and spending, and only 1% for employment and economic development.
