Double standards in private hospitals

Although everyone pays “social contributions” insurance with the purpose to benefit from them when the time comes, these contributions are not paid back.

Doctors in the public health system are much more qualified that those in the private sector, but they don’t have the capacity to cover the many patients.

Due to these delays, many citizens are forced to use the private sector, where their social contribution is not taken into account. They are immediately introduced to a very espensive service, which is applied in a double standard.

There are plenty of foreign doctors who operate in these private hospitals, but nobody has checked their diplomas.

The Tirana University hospital estimated that the cost of a coronary angioplasty is 140.000 ALL, but patients that don’t receive this service in the public hospital, pay several times more at the private sector.

If the government cannot intervene with prices, all private subjects must e inspected for the quality they offer.
