The main Democratic Party building in Tirana will no longer have the armored doors installed by former President Lulzim Basha to defend itself from democratic rival’s Sali Berisha supporters.

The decision seems to have been taken by the incumbent mayor Enkelejd Alibeaj after the increased pressure of the deputies. The removal of the armored doors is seen as a symbol of facilitating the dialogue with the deputies suspended by Basha, while a way of uniting the factions is now expected.

Berisha: ‘DP has its institution already operational. I think that any debate can take place within the PD parliamentary group now.

Many MPs have opposed the candidacy of Sali Berisha for chairman of the Democratic Party.

Berisha also stated: ‘Bluff is not the way to play. No one comes above the decisions of the December 11 assembly. The union ended with Basha’s resignation’

On Friday, the judicial process for the decisions of the Assembly of Sali Berisha is expected to be decisive in the battle for the owner of the DP headquarters.
