Croatian Supreme Court rules to extradite Morina to Serbia

The Supreme Court of Croatia rejected the appeal of Ismail Morina,
against his extradition to Serbia, where he is wanted for flying a drone
over a Belgrade stadium, during the Albania-Serbia match.

The Croatian court said Morina’s appeal was rejected because his request was not legally founded. Morina was arrested this June in Croatia, after an international arrest order issued by Serbia.

Morina claims he will not have a fair trial in Serbia, that’s why he demanded political asylum in Croatia, to avoid extradition.

But the Supreme Court of Croatia has ruled the same as that of the First Instance, which decided this August that Morina should be extradited to Serbia.

Morina’s case has put in motion regional diplomacy, especially official Tirana, who have contacted with Croatian counterparts to not allow Morina’s extradition.

Especially after recent threats that Morina has received from Serbian criminals. It seems that Tirana will have to continue with its efforts, since the final decision for Morina now stays on the hand of Drazen Bosnjakovic, Croatian Minister of Justice.
