COVID19/ Again high number of infections in Albania, 12 losses of life in the last 24 hours

The health authorities announced today (11.12.2020) that 2604 Covid-19 tests have been performed, out of which 802 citizens have tested positive in the last 24 hours.

Confirmed positive cases have been identified in the following municipalities: 310 in Tirana, 57 in Berat, 46 in Elbasan, 43 in Korça, 38 in Vlora, 35 in Shkodra, 30 in Lushnje, 24 in Mat, 22 in Gjirokastra, 21 in Fier, out of 18 cases in Durrës, Përmet, from 13 cases in Kruja, Lezha, Kuçova, 12 in Skrapar, 11 in Pogradec, 10 in Puka, 9 cases in Dibër, Peqin, 8 cases in Gramsh, Saranda, 7 in Tropoja, 5 in Kavaja, 4 cases each in Kurbin , Tepelena, 3 cases each in Kukës, Mirditë, Librazhd, Delvinë, and 1 case each in Has, Kolonjë.

In the last 24 hours, 527 citizens have recovered from the disease, while the number of hospitalized is 451 patients, 37 of whom are in intensive care.

Despite the efforts of doctors, in the last 24 hours, 12 citizens with Sars-Cov2 positive have lost their lives in COVID hospitals: 5 citizens from Tirana, 1 citizen from Elbasan, 1 citizen from Dibra, 1 citizen from Korça, 1 citizen from Vlora , 1 citizen from Fieri, 1 citizen from Kavaja, 1 citizen from Durrës, aged 51-83.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased, and appeals to citizens to limit contacts and avoid any unnecessary outings, to limit the spread of COVID-19.
