COVID-19 update, Ministry of Health: 132 new cases and 3 losses of life in the last 24 hours

132 new cases and 3 losses of life were recorded in the last 24 hours in Albania by the Covid-19 pandemic.

824 tests were performed and 132 infected with the Sars-Cov2 virus were confirmed in the following municipalities: 31 cases in Tirana, 15 in Elbasan, 12 in Durrës, 10 in Fier, 7 cases in Lezha, Pogradec, 5 cases in Shkodra, Korçë, Mirditë, Berat, from 4 cases in Lushnje, Përmet, Bulqizë, from 3 cases in Tropojë, Gjirokastër, Patos, from 2 cases in Fushë-Arrëz, Kolonjë, from 1 case in Has, Vlora, Librazhd, Kamëz, Ura- Vajgurore.

Currently in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and “Shefqet Ndroqi” 185 patients are being treated, 16 in intensive therapy of which only 4 patients are intubated.

In the last 24 hours, despite the efforts of doctors, unfortunately they lost the battle with COVID19, a 58-year-old woman from Tirana, a 63-year-old man from Lushnja, and a 66-year-old man from Fier, all three with concomitant diseases. Marjeta Dervishi from the Institute of Public Health stated that the Ministry of Health and Social Protection calls on the citizens not to reduce the vigilance for the implementation of anti-COVID measures.

In educational institutions, in businesses, in public transport, everywhere indoors and where distance is not maintained, it is necessary to wear masks in such a way as to cover the nose and mouth, she recommended.
