COVID-19 update/ Added restrictions, 510 new cases and 8 losses of life in the last 24 hours

The Albanian Ministry of Health reiterated today (24.12.2020) the appeal to the citizens to limit the contacts and to celebrate the holidays only with the close family, to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The authorities reminded that from today the new measures approved by the Technical Committee of Experts enter into force, to restrict the movement of the population from 20:30 to 6 o’clock in the morning, starting from December 24 to January 4.

Exceptions to this rule are made for persons who have to move for health emergencies, work motives or urgent needs.

Persons moving for work or necessity reasons are provided with authorization through the e-albania portal.

In the last 24 hours in the country, 2198 tests were performed in which 510 citizens tested positive.

In the last 24 hours, 477 citizens have recovered from the disease, while 346 patients with Covid-19 are being treated in hospital, 21 of whom in intensive care.

Despite the efforts of doctors, in the last 24 hours failed to win the battle with the disease 8 citizens with Sars-Cov2: 3 citizens from Tirana, 2 citizens from Durres, 1 citizen from Kruja, 1 citizen from Berat, 1 citizen from Tropoja, all aged between 57-78. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
