COVID-19 update/ 739 new cases and 7 losses of life in the last 24 hours

Albanian Ministry of Health and Social Protection appealed today (22.01.2021) to the citizens not to reduce the vigilance in the implementation of anti-COVID rules.

The authorities said that 3314 tests were performed, of which 739 citizens tested positive. Confirmed positive cases have been identified in the following municipalities: 251 cases in Tirana, 39 in Durrës, 35 in Vlora, 34 in Lushnje, 30 in Elbasan, 27 in Lezha, 22 in Kruja, 20 in Fier, and smaller numbers of infections in other cities.

Currently in 4 COVID hospitals, 274 patients are being treated, of which 23 in intensive care. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, 7 citizens lost the battle with COVID19, including four citizens from Tirana, 1 citizen from Dibra, 1 citizen from Mati, and 1 citizen from Kavaja, all aged 59-75.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
