The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appealed today (21.01.2021) to the citizens not to reduce vigilance in the implementation of anti-COVID rules by wearing the protective mask and maintaining physical distance to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Authorities said that 3088 tests were performed which resulted in 678 Covid positive citizens.
Confirmed positive cases were identified in Tirana with 243 cases, 35 in Vlora, 34 in Durrës, 31 in Elbasan, 25 in Berat, 24 in Kavaja, 23 in Shkodra, 21 cases in Kruja, 18 in Fier and a lesser numer of infection in others districts.
In the last 24 hours, 457 citizens have recovered, while currently in 4 COVID hospitals, 285 patients are being treated, of which 24 in intensive therapy. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, 5 citizens lost the battle with the disease, one from Tirana, 1 from Kurbin, Librazhd, Saranda, Lushnja, all aged 70-81 years.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
