Five citizens affected by COVID have died in the last 24 hours in the country, bringing the total number of victims to 2,574, health authorities announced today (18.09.2021).
Out of 4,769 tests performed in the last 24 hours, 849 citizens were positive for COVID-19, of which 273 cases were registered in Tirana, 54 in Shkodra, 53 in Vlora, 46 cases in Durrës, 40 cases in Kavaja, 39 cases in Elbasan, 36 cases in Lushnja and relatively fewer in other districts of Albania.
12,772 active patients with COVID19 are reported throughout the country while 216 patients are receiving treatment at COVID Hospitals, 25 of whom in serious condition.
In the last 24 hours, two men from Tirana, 59 and 64 years old, a 79 years man from Laçi, an 84 years old woman from Lezha, and a man from Durrës, 89 years old, lost the battle with COVID19.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expressed its condolences to the families, and appealed to the citizens to get vaccinated, while adding: “If you suspect that you are affected by COVID19 or have signs of illness, isolate yourself immediately and contact your family doctor to be tested or call the National Emergency in unique number 127 ”.
