Albanian Ministry of Health announced that in the last 24 hours (Friday 19 March) 494 people infected with Covid-19 were detected while the number of recovered is higher, 690 in a day.
Unfortunately 16 patients lost their lives of the disease.
During today 4998 anti-Covid vaccinations have been carried out in the country and since the beginning of the process 41,321 vaccinations have been carried out for health personnel, the elderly and teaching personnel.
Meanwhile, out of 2986 tests, 494 persons resulted positive. In the last 24 hours, 690 citizens have recovered, while 390 patients are being treated in COVID hospitals in Tirana and three regional hospitals, 33 of which in intensive therapy.
Despite the efforts of the medical staff, 16 citizens lost the battle with COVID19: 4 citizens from Tirana, 3 citizens from Vlora, 2 citizens from Shkodra, 2 citizens from Lushnja, 1 citizen from Fier, 1 citizen from Himara, 1 citizen from Elbasan , 1 citizen from Librazhd, 1 citizen from Mirdita, all aged 54-87 years. The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
