COVID-19 update / 295 new cases and 3 casualties in the last 24 hours

The high numbers of infections in the country continue as the authorities announced today (19.10.2020) that out of 1413 tests in the last 24 hours, 295 citizens tested positive with SARS-COV2.

96 citizens have recovered, bringing to 10,167 the number of healed in the country since the beginning of the epidemic.

Positive cases confirmed in the last 24 hours have been identified in these municipalities:
74 affected in Tirana, 39 affected in Durrës, 30 cases in Shkodra,
22 cases in Lushnje, 12 cases in Vlora,
11 cases each in Fier and Pogradec,
10 cases in Kruja and Berat,
9 cases in Elbasan and Lezha,
7 cases in Gjirokastra,
6 cases in Kurbin,
5 cases in Divjaka,
4 cases each in Kukës, Tropojë, Prrenjas, Skrapar,
3 cases in Saranda, Gramsh, Kuçova,
2 cases in Has and Shijak,
1 case each in Fushë- Arrëz, Devollë, Kavaja, Mirditë, Rrogozhinë, Mallakastër, Librazhd, Mat, Përmet, Roskovec, Klos.

Currently in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and “Shefqet Ndroqi” 259 patients are being treated, 22 in intensive therapy.

In the last 24 hours, despite the efforts of doctors, unfortunately lost the battle with COVID19, a 47-year-old man from Tirana, a 53-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man from Durrës, with concomitant diseases.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expressed its condolences to the families.
