COVID-19 update/ 21 patients die but lower infection rates observed

The Ministry of Health reiterated today (05.03.2021) the appeal to all citizens to implement the rules for the prevention of COVID19.

The authorities said that in the last 24 hours 1440 anti-Covid vaccinations were performed while 3171 swab tests were carried out, out of which 780 citizens tested positive.

Confirmed positive cases have been identified in the following municipalities: 274 cases in Tirana, 49 in Durrës, 44 in Elbasan, 42 in Shkodra, 39 in Saranda, 36 in Berat, 30 in Gjirokastra, 26 in Lezha, 22 in Tepelena, 19 in Librazhd and lesser numbers in other districts.

They said that in the last 24 hours, 757 citizens have recovered from the disease while 638 patients are being treated, 37 of which in intensive care.

Despite the efforts of the medical staff, 21 citizens lost the battle with COVID19: 6 citizens from Tirana, 2 citizens in Fier, 2 citizens from Shkodra, 2 citizens from Lushnja, 1 citizen in Kuçova, 1 citizen from Kavaja, 1 citizen from Cerrik , 1 citizen from Peqini, 1 citizen from Pogradec, 1 citizen from Elbasan, 1 citizen from Kurbin, 1 citizen from Bulqiza, 1 citizen from Korça, aged 44-90.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses its condolences to the families of the deceased.
