In its daily statement, the Health Ministry said today (Monday 20.07.2020) that in the last 24 hours 81 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered.
Unfortunately, an 80-year-old man from Tirana, who was suffering from an accompanying disease, could not win the battle with the novel coronavirus.
Dr. Eugena Tomini from the Institute of Public Health said that the epidemiological situation continues to be serious.
“During the last week, we had an increasing trend of confirmed positive cases with Covid-19, with a weekly average of about 90 cases. A growing trend are also cases that have been hospitalized or that have required treatment in intensive therapy.
All these indicators indicate that the virus will continue its transmission if citizens do not become aware of respecting the established rules, to keep the mask indoors, to maintain social distance, and businesses by implementing the approved protocols.
