The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu said today that the National Emergency will double the field teams for housing service for citizens affected by COVID19.

“Tirana remains a hotbed, but in the meantime we are preparing for the response to the situation throughout the country. At the moment we are building even more mobile teams for patients with COVID19, ie mobile teams that will provide in-home assistance according to protocols, according to the degree of morbidity, for those who will need assistance at home, or for transfer to hospital, according to protocols. During the autumn-winter, we will double our field teams”, said Manastirliu.

Appreciating the great work done by the Coordination Unit and the national emergency teams, Manastirliu said that the teams are facing a considerable influx of citizens affected by SARS COV2.

“There are over 500 calls for Covid19 assistance in the unique number of the National Emergency 127. On the other hand, the National Emergency continues to provide services for all other pathologies. This is also thanks to a very good work and organization, done by you, with all the hospitals “, said Manastirliu.

Asking the citizens to refer to the health structures, according to the referral system, Manastirliu added: “I want to call on all citizens, to communicate with the unique number 127 when they have signs of the illness, because the hospitals where the citizens are sent and for information on COVID19, for contacts with the family doctor, should be called the toll free number 0800 40 40 “, said Manastirliu.
