Covid-19; High numbers again in Albania, 26 new cases, 12 in Tirana main hospital

26 new cases, all in Tirana are the Covid-19 results for the last 24 hours.

225 citizens were tested as suspected with Covid-19 and 26 positive cases were confirmed, all in Tirana.

From the in-depth epidemiological investigation, 73 health personnel were tested, of which 12 tested positive in the Tirana University Hospital QSUT, all without symptoms.

In total, there are 20 affected in QSUT, health personnel and patients, contacts of the medical personnel member patient identified three days ago.

Meanwhile, the in-depth epidemiological investigation continues for the new cases in Tirana.

The total number of affected reaches 1076.

Dr. Rovena Daja from the Institute of Public Health provided more details:

“The infectious disease hospital is currently treating 24 patients, 3 of whom are in intensive care.

“In the last 24 hours, 11 citizens have recovered, bringing the number of the cured to 823 since the beginning of the epidemic.

“Since the beginning of the epidemic, over 15,000 molecular and serological tests have been performed, while the number of confirmed positive cases across the country is 1,076. Of these, over 76% are cured.

“There are currently 220 active people in our country with COVID19, mainly in Tirana, Durrës and Kruja.”
