COVID-19, Health Ministry: 117 new cases, 2 losses of life and 68 recovered in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 2 citizens have lost the battle with the disease, a 70-year-old woman from Tirana and a 66-year-old man from Shkodra, with concomitant diseases.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection expresses condolences to the families of the deceased.

The situation in the infectious disease hospital continues to be serious. In the last 24 hours the number of hospitalized patients has reached 85, 10 patients are in intensive care and 4 of them are intubated, in serious condition.

During the last 24 hours, 585 tests were performed on suspects affected by COVID19, of which 117 positive cases were confirmed.

The geographical distribution of new cases is as follows: 41 cases in Tirana, 9 cases in Shkodra, Kavaja, 7 in Korca, 6 cases in Puka, Lezha, 5 cases in Durres, Kurbin, 4 cases in Kruja, Mirdita, Tropoja, 3 in Fier, from 2 cases in Kolonjë, Lushnje, Vlora, Mat, and from 1 case in Memaliaj, Ura Vajgurore, Pogradec, Kamëz, Berat, Elbasan.

In the last 24 hours, 68 citizens have been cured, bringing to 2014 the number of people cured since the beginning of the epidemic.

In our country there are currently 1462 active persons with COVID19, mainly in Tirana, Shkodra, Kruja, Durres.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection addresses the citizens, to show care in the workplace or elsewhere when providing services and in any public environment, by respecting hygiene measures, physical distance, avoiding contact and wearing masks when it is not possible to keep distance.
