COVID-19/66-year-old patient dies in Tirana infectious disease hospital

A 66-year-old patient from Tirana confirmed with COVID19, has died at the infectious disease hospital QSUT, hospitalized for a week in serious condition.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection said today that in the last 24 hours, 344 Covid-19 tests have been performed, of which 78 positive cases have been confirmed.

A good part of the daily cases are related to contacts of the previous cases, while the investigation for new cases continues, the ministry informs.

Shkodra has the highest number of daily cases with 14, in Kruja 13 affected have been identified, 12 in Tirana, 9 in Puka, 6 in Delvina, 4 cases in Gjirokastra, Vlora and Kukës, 2 cases in Kamza, Durres and Fier, and 1 case respectively in Kurbin, Korca, Kavaja, Lushnje, Mirdita, Pogradec.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appeals to citizens to exercise caution in enforcing the rules on a daily basis and for businesses to strictly observe safety protocols, in order to maintain the health of citizens.

The State Health Inspectorate and the Anti-COVID Task Force continue to be on the ground 24/7 to monitor and control the implementation of security protocols.
